I need someone with some knowledge on old stocks. My mom handed me a Disney stock certificate last Father's Day and said that my father had purchased 9 shares of Disney stock for me for my 9th Birthday. When I called Broadridge they said that they have no real information for me, because they weren't the holding company at that time. They also tried to claim that they may have already been sold, but my mother says that there is no way they were ever sold. I have the certificate and it isn't signed. Wouldn't that be proof that those shares were never sold?
