Hey I am redoing the entire floor of my 1950s house and the last room I went to remove carpet from had old 9x9 VAT under it. They are in horrible condition with about half of the tile competently lose, 10% are missing, and 10% more are broken. A great end to floor removal. To make matters worse under the tile is thick black mastic...My original plan was to lay 1/4-1/2 inch of leveling compound throughout the house to prepare for Pergo laminate. I am afraid the leveling compound will not stick to either the loose tiles or the black mastic. I understand it's always best to cover asbestos but I am pretty set on the floating laminate which needs a level floor.Any suggestions are getting the floor I have ready for the leveling compound? Thanks in advance for your help. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2JCDqcX
