I moved to Oslo, Norway last year and have been struggling to keep my monthly expenses low for things such as food, gym, going out(1-2 times a month), and in rare occasions getting some new clothes etc.
I'm currently averaging around 9000 kroners per month which equates to €935/$1150/£835, in expenses.
The rent prices are already high, and although the salary is also quite high here in Oslo, it just seems like so much money to spend each month on basic expenses, that I could instead put away in savings.
I'm trying to eat a healthy protein-rich diet, which may be the cause of the high cost but I'm thinking that there must be some way to still cut a lot of costs? It's like Norway punishes people who try to eat healthy as costs of fresh vegetables is extremely high. I'm also cooking everything at home and try to bring lunch to work everyday (cantine offers lunch for 85 NOK ~ €8,85/$10,84/£7,88 which I find expensive).
Any advice would be much appreciated. I use public transport which is quite fairly priced in contrast to everything else.
