So I've had my backpack for 4 years and, up until now, have never had a complaint. It's been thrown around a bit, and a couple of times I've been certain the main portion of the bag would've given through due to a graze or some such - but as far as handling it myself I've been careful.

Not a big deal. I'll email Osprey with their "All Mighty Guarantee".
I made it clear I didn't want a refund or replacement, just help fixing it. I was told the zip "had been cut" and was not under their guarantee - that's all. Fine, I responded that I'd like to purchase a replacement zip off them, seeing as they mention the sale of replacement parts on their site.
Nope! They don't do those. And even when I asked if I had ANY options going forward, I was met with a "no, sorry".
It seems clear to me that, even when 90% of the bag is BIFL, being unable to repair a relatively small fault makes this product undoubtedly NOT BIFL.
