I'm in Chicago and I have $400 in the bank. I don't have a job, but I have two interviews coming up (both pay around $11). They're full time. That's $1440/mo after taxes, I think?
I'm staying at my boyfriends place, but this place is unstable just as my moms was - his mom keeps yelling and crap, it's depressing (on top of our already existing depression). He's 25, I'm 21.
I'm pretty confident I'm going to get one of these jobs as one of them is actually a program for youth to help you get a job. So, what would my/our plan be after I get the job? Save until we can afford a new place? He also doesn't have a job yet. The rents here are high. Everything is basically $600+, and I'm in no position to leave the city as I'm bounded.
edit: Oh, and we might be kicked out soon, probably next month.
