Hi there, I'd like some help please.I bought an oversized smartphone case soft toy for my 16 month old son (don't judge, I don't often let him play with my smartphone but there's a few kids apps I let him play with and videos I let him watch occasionally).http://ift.tt/2H0671b; Would it work okay to cut some of the plastic with a Stanley knife /boxcutter after heating the knife up on the stove? Any better suggestions?Details follow...The size of the window is fine for my phone and looks like it should do what want, cover up the buttons and top/bottom menu bars so he can enjoy playing for more than five seconds instead of self sabotaging out of the app back to the main menu screen. The mistake I made, is the toy is meant for iPhone 5 but I have something more like iPhone 6 size; it's too big (my phone is actually Android... but that's another story. It's iPhone sized).Visible in the picture, there's a phone- framing cutaway shape in hard green plastic on the window side, and in both hard green plastic and softer orange plastic on the body side.I figured if I can cut away just enough of the hard green plastic, it'll fit my phone and not change the outside appearance or overall structural integrity.I've still to pull it apart further, it seems like I might be able to pry some of the pieces apart, and I may or may not have more access once I take a screwdriver to the behind-the-back battery compartment. What do you think? Genuine help/advice please. "Just don't" isn't really what I'm after, I want to try something and at least see if my efforts are worthwhile. Is there a better way than this hot knife approach? Very modest set of tools, no big garage or workshop. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2FiFRlo
