Hi all,I fitted an Ikea "Ekby Bjarnum" shelf above my kitchen sink to use as a bar. It was fitted with four of these EasyFix 32mm metal self-drill plasterboard fixings. I drilled a small pilot hole prior to inserting each. I'm fixing to plasterboard. The shelf felt solidly attached, however I foolishly allowed my bar stock to get a bit out of hand - there was about 25kg of booze on there. Sadly the shelf failed a few days ago, ripping a fair chunk of plaster out of the wall when it fell off. I've just finished repainting the wall where a fair bit of red wine was spilled and have filled the holes with Polycell multi-purpose Polyfilla. Here's a photo of the area.I'd like to remount the shelf in much the same position...but obviously would rather use a fixing which is up to the task this time! The shelf itself weighs around 1kg and I'd ideally like to put the 25kg of booze back on it too. Would four spring toggle bolts such as these be suitable for that kind of weight (if I mount the shelf a few cms higher or lower to avoid the already used holes)? Or should I be looking at a slightly more elaborate solution just to be safe? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2GIJPSQ
