I have an Ikea chair in which the back is bolted to the two armrests which in turn is bolted to the seat. The armrest is an integral part of the chair so simply removing it or chopping off the top to make room for the body of the guitar isn't an option as this is what carries the tension load when you lean back. I was thinking of making a low profile triangular reinforcing plate to replace the armrest. I have some 3mm ply. Do you think that would be strong enough.
