I read all the posts on here and realize I almost never contribute back to communities like this for others so just wanted to put in my experience.
I was really on the fence about the GR2. That much for a backpack seemed so lavish but I've been using mine for about 8 months now and I am so incredibly happy I bought it. If this one for some reason got destroyed. It would be tough but let's say... jeez i don't even know how to destroy this thing.... I accidentally left it on a fire overnight - I would go buy another one.
I'm only commuting to and from San Francisco on the Bart and thought the bag might be overkill but I love the protection for my laptop (setting it down is stress free), the amount of pockets is just right, the zippers never ever get stuck or feel fragile in any way on any compartment in the bag, and I absolutely adore how it opens completely on it's back to stuff it for trips. 10/10. My only complaint is there doesn't seem to be that many people making cool velcro patches for the front!
