While cleaning out my families basement, I found a sealed case containing four Hudson Bay point blankets. They are all 3.5 point size. These blankets all appear to be in excellent condition. They have no visible damage and still feel very strong and heavy. They have already been dry cleaned as well.
From what I can tell, they were owned by my grandfather who used them on his fishing boat in the 50s and 60s.
Is there anything I should know about caring for vintage wool blankets? They seem heavier and larger than newer 3.5 blankets I have seen. What will be the other difference between these? How should I treat these as opposed to modern wool blankets?
Thanks!
