I'm about 3/5 of the way to being free from credit card debt, but I am very proud of this first milestone. I paid $1800 in February and March on a $40,000 salary. It was definitely tight, but well worth the sacrifices I had to make.
I highly recommend the avalanche method of debt payment if you're serious about doing everything you can to pay off your debt. The reward feels so much grander than if I just paid off my low balance cards first.
I kind of unintentionally became vegetarian in the last 2 months by living off of beans, rice, lentils, spinach, assorted seeds and nuts, and making all my meals at home. I am also 2 days shy of being tobacco-free for a month and haven't had any alcohol in 2 weeks. Being frugal is more than just penny-pinching.
Thanks to everyone on this forum for inspiring me to finally take care of my shit from my college days.
