I'm debating signing up, because there are some things I just can't find in stores, and Amazon is convenient and often cheaper or at least the same as what the in-store price would be. (Couldn't find any parafin wax cubes to start my charcoal grill anywhere in any stores, got a box of 24 for $3 off Amazon).

But I'm wondering, aside from what seems like a majority of one-time or very seldom purchases, are there common household items that are cheaper on Amazon vs in stores to help make it worth the price of Prime?

Or is it's main use just the free shipping on those one-off items?

I have a BJ's membership so I do get some things wholesale like paper products, not sure if Amazon is a cheaper source.
