Sprint sent us 5x $200 Visa Gift Cards as part of a promotion for bringing over all my lines. 2 of those cards were received February 17th. We've expected all GCs to arrive together as they were sent on the same day, but we only received two and so we immediately called Sprint to check on their status. We were told that day that we should wait a few more days, they might arrive until Wednesday. As you can imagine, that went on a few times until the CSR told us yesterday that those 3 missing GCs are empty now as they were drained Tuesday and Thursday. (So all of this could have been avoided if they would have reacted one of the first times we called) I suspect that USPS delivered those 3 letters to one of our neighbors and they used it (as we were told that those GCs were used in our area and USPS does that almost every day).
We filed a police report now, a incident with USPS and reported the cards as stolen with http://sprintprepaidcard.com. No one gave us a proper answer so far though what'll happen with those $600 and as that's quite a lot of money for us, I'm wondering if someone knows what'll happen next and/or what else we could do in this situation?
I don't know if peronalfinance is the correct subreddit for this, but I hope you guys can give some advice?!
