We're currently with Sprint paying $170 for an unlimited everything plan with two lines. We don't own our phones we are currently 'renting' 2 LG G6's for the two years of our plan at $29.50 a month for each phone, plus $13.00 a month each for phone insurance. Each phone has a remaining lease commitment of $236.00, and at the end of the two-year contract, we have to pay $177 each to keep the phones. I don't even know how much it costs to break a two-year contract. We do get a plan discount of $14.75 per phone so I guess that pays for the insurance. What would be our option at the end of the contract? If we pay for the phones at the end we are stuck with Sprint since these phones only work with Sprint service, or do we just give the phones back and go buy unlocked phones full price that only works with AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile. We'd also have to buy a third party insurance for both phones. I'd like to have a plan like we currently have where everything is unlimited. We use 10+GB of data per month and I don't want to have to worry about overages. It's hard to find the true cost of plans since you never know what surcharges and taxes and fees will be. It's kind of overwhelming, I'm getting really confused, and it's starting to take more time than I'd like to try and figure this out. I hate that phone companies started going to this "lease the phone" option instead of staying with the "pay $300 up front, get a $150 mail-in rebate, and then pay the remainder in your bill at the end you own the phone."
