I have a wooden external shell on my velomobile. It is painted, but the paint is old and so the roof is flaking (exposing another layer of paint, not wood). I want to remove the flaking paint and put a layer of white over the whole thing, so I can draw/paint on it to decorate it and finish off with an appropriate weatherproof lacquer or sealant. My question (which I haven't been able to properly satisfy with articles I've read, etc.) is this: is spray paint okay to use as this new white coat? It's just going over existing white and light blue paint, whatever isn't flaked off (that I will remove and paint will still be under there), so it mostly is to have a uniform base to work on. I can check the type of spray paint I have if that is helpful, I already have some that was for a different outdoor purpose and was hoping it could be used for this also. Thanks in advance. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2opZSvU
