I converted 7k to a Roth IRA in 2016. Due to a clerical error I didn’t withhold taxes. So now I’m on the hook for the taxes. The adviser told me I should be able to withdraw the taxes penalty free since the contribution/conversion was this year. Is this correct? I’ve been researching, but can’t find any information on the topic because I don’t think I’m looking in the right place. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks
