Their salary last year was $46.5k, and with overtime they got $50k + $1k bonus.
They got a raise to $48.5k and their work said that they were now "reclassified as exempt from overtime according to the FLSA". This is effectively a pay cut.
They are given many, many responsibilities and frequently has to stay late to make sure that they are all taken care of. Their workload has remained unchanged since the reclassification, they just now don't get paid for staying late and making sure that the office works properly.
It seems like, while shitty, this is on the up and up. I just wanted to double check with you fine folks. Thanks for your help.
