I haven't gotten around to going paperless for my health insurance bills. When I get a bill in the mail, I don't open it because they are auto-debited. I was organizing some paperwork and opened what I assumed was an old bill just to verify before throwing it away. Turns out it was a "Medical Loss Ratio" rebate check. I've had it since September 2017.
I guess it doesn't hurt to open letters. Tomorrow I call to determine if I've failed to cash any older checks. I hope so!
