So, long of the short, I bought a bed from mattress firm that I thought I liked. I went for a firm and got the firmest one they had. I thought I liked it in the store, but when I got it it was too hard and gave me pain that I never experienced before. Also, I tried the sample again and realized that I was wrong and it was too firm.
I went back to the store the next week and said I wanted to do an exchange. Well, the salesperson interpreted me saying it was too firm as needing a "medium-firm" bed instead. When, reality is I just needed a "not the firmest bed you have but instead the next one slightly down with SOME give, not NO give like the last one".
So, I took his suggestion after debating between the bed I SHOULD have gotten over the one I got on the suggestion of the saleperson and the pressure from family member that went with me who kept pestering me not to get a firm mattress because I complained about the last one.
Anyways, got this one this week and this one is too soft. I can't sleep on it and it is annoying for another reason.
So, now I just feel like an idiot. I got a too firm bed, and now I have a too soft bed.
Supposedly I can exchange ONE more time there. What do I do at this point?
I am just so frusterated with myself and frankly embarrassed if I have to walk back into the store complaining that I need to make an exchange. Granted, I did pay over $1k on the bed though...so I can't really let this go either. Beds last 10 years at times, so this matters.
Can someone at Reddit please help me out on what to do in this situation? Do you all know if I can exchange another time with Mattress Firm? Am I going to hurt the salespersons numbers doing this (he was a nice guy and actually really helped out with discounts...so feel like shit coming back in if that is the case).
I just don't know what to do. I just need a FIRM mattress so I can sleep on stomach. I want one that is a step down from NO give. It has to have some give, but not too much.
I am just frustrated with my financial decision and can't figure out what to do. Can someone out there please help me?
