Group of 5 had dinner at a Mexican restaurant. We ordered a guacamole and the guac guy came to our table to make a fresh on in front of us. Guac was $10, we tipped $5. This was definitely worth it service was good, we got entertained and guac was good.
Bill came in at around 120. Service was okay but not at all exceptional. Our server only came back when we asked him for more water. I usually tip 15% so I told my friend to add $18. Friend told me that there were 5 of us and we did get free chips and salsa so maybe we should up it to 20% which is $24 then round up to $25. We all just agreed to it.
How do you all decide on how much to tip? Is 15% really get frowned upon these days?
