Hi, I have a small project I'm looking to tackle. I have an existing supply valve and refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser. There is approximately a 4 for distance between the two and no connection. I know there are a few types of valves and supply lines available (copper, pex, pvc, flex braided stainless, polyethylene...). I'd like to know everyone’s recommendation on the best choice of supply line and valve for optimal efficiency, taste, reliability and preventing leaks. I keep reading and running into conflicting information and really would like the communities thoughts on the supply line and the valve itself. If anyone has an actual link to one they recommend that would be awesome. Also is there is any special equipment that can be installed (automatic shut off valve? Water hammer arrester?). I’ve found a couple that are for washing machines, water heaters, and couple that are complete systems as well. I’m assuming that I could utilize them for my purpose as well? Again any links to recommendations would be greatly appreciated.Lastly, I’m looking to install the new supply valve and possible leak proofing equipment under the sink. I was also think since I’m going to be down there replacing connections if really like to get some type of water filter hooked up before the kitchen faucet. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Or do you all feel it would be better to place this closer to the main supply line incoming? Thanks for your help via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2nAMCoN
