Today I got a free, modern, "like brand new" desk from an elderly neighbor I said hello to like, twice.
Also, I have been chatting with the cashier at the grocery store I frequent, for a few months now. Today, he totally broke the rules for me and gave me a bunch of free coupons. One was for a free bottle of aspirin, another for a free loaf of bread, and four others for 50 cents off common grocery items.
I often get lots of free plants from another elderly neighbor.
of course, it's not good to be nice to people to see what you can get out of them. This just happened to pay off for me because I genuinely wanted to brighten a few strangers' days.
