We had a Weber meat thermometer that we purchased from Orchard Supply about 3 months ago that suddenly stopped working. My husband was going to just throw it out and buy a new one, but I emailed the company explaining the issue and asked if that was a normal life expectancy for a meat thermometer. They emailed me back that they would send us a brand new one, just needed our information and a picture of the broken one! I’ve done the same thing for our French press that broke after a few months. The longest one, which I felt was a stretch but thought, eh let’s give it a shot.. our slow cooker / multicooker. Right at the year mark it stopped working and I was very disappointed because its approximate cost was $250 (it was a wedding present). I emailed Cuisinart and they sent us a brand new one, no problem!
Anyway, just a reminder that it doesn’t hurt to contact the manufacturer when something breaks! We’ve never submitted warranty info for these things and I’m always very polite when I contact them :)
