I’ve gotten a few calls asking for my sister-in-law (husband’s sister). Each time I say no one by that name lives here and I don’t know anyone by that name (true because they mispronounce both the first and last name; they’re unusual pronunciations of more common names). This morning I was able to get the company’s name, and it’s debt collection.
I want to give her a heads up that the company is looking for her. Is there any advice I should give her?
What’s extra weird is that the company is calling our landline, which we’ve only had for about three months, and my husband and I have different last names from her; she took her husband’s name when she got married 15 years ago. It surprises me that the company would connect her name with a new landline in an area code 300 miles from her.
Thanks in advance for any insights you might have!
