A little older, a little wiser. Realizing less debt and more savings is a lot better than a new car. What is something in the $5-$7k range (that would be paid off on the spot) that is reliable enough to last for a few years.

Looking for a beater to get me from point A to point B safely and with little headache on long term maintenance. Any feedback from others who have personally gone this route in order to free up more money for debts and savings is welcome!
