At the job I work at, the first paycheck of the year I was taxed 36% when I usually only get taxed 22-23% of my paychecks. I have another coworker who makes the same amount who has gotten similarly have the same happen to him. I live in Utah, working a wage based job for about $30,000 a year at 12.25 an hour. Is this 13-14% tax increase going to be a constant from this point forward, is it because it is the first paycheck of the year, or is it a mistake in payroll's end?
