http://ift.tt/2F2p2Yd second floor ceiling (to floor) had developed a small water stain last year, and some bubbling under the paint. I had the roof inspected and the contractor told me there were no leaks on the roof, and it was in excellent state. I was told that the water membrane may have a leak, and some snow may have come up through a vent pipe and seeped through, but that it was likely a one time thing. After the recent snow storms in the Northeast, two long cracks have developed in the same area. The paint along the cracks is peeled and there's some water staining. The cracks seem to run along the edges of the drywall (or plaster; the house was built in 1946 and most of the interior walls and ceiling is plaster).I don't think this is a roof collapse, but I want to know what else it could be and what would be involved in fixing it. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2DAjFSS
