Ok I'm 35 F, I'm old enough to remember old people who grew up in the depression hoarding stuff and agonising over every penny spent decades upon decades later. Most of them making bad or just no investment decisions due to fear.

Not to get all emotional feely on you guys, but do you think the recesion has sort of tramatized some of us financially? I am always like wow this is great gains but also I must be super prepared just in case "it" happens again. Even though I know logically that was a once in a lifetime blip.. I feel like in the back of my mind I'm a prepper hoarding ammo and cat food but with stocks and emergency funds. My planning includes for when I'm rich or when I'm sleeping in a tent.

Anyway, those that really experienced the recession does it change your investing style at all? Do you keep more cash on hand due to a feeling you can't shake that you know is probably stupid? I can't be the only one who feels like this

Thoughts?
