Hey guys,Without getting into a large story, I found that the plumbing from my kitchen sink is attached to the dishwasher and the clothes washer units at a small "Y" pipe in the basement, and from that point it's a long straight pipe (around 30-40ft PVC 2"OD) until it reaches a large black iron pipe that leads to city pipes. Well...I've developed a really really bad clog that I think is somewhere nearby the blackpipe, or IN the blackpipe. Pretty sure it was caused by coffee grounds.1I tried a 10'ft snake at a flow release valve under the sink hoping that the issue was nearby the sink...to no avail. So...I tried Drano Max Gel (The entire bottle)...still not working after 12 hours later, and now the water has caustic material in it...yay.So we've been trying to plunge it using the disposal (since it essentially forces the water down...and that's sort of worked? We'll get a full sink of hot water and then run the disposal until it's empty, then turn off the disposal, and a quarter of the sink gets pushed back up. So we did it again, probably about 10 gallons of hot water pushed down, 2-3 comes back up. So I've checked around the house, the water isn't coming out anywhere else, and I checked the crawlspace for leaks...so I'm good right?Should I keep doing that until the hotwater Drano Combo helps dissolve the clog? Or am I doing unspeakable amount of damage to something?Or should I just call the plumber? I really don't have the money for a plumber...hence why I'm trying desperately to do this myself.Any ideas? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2DQYQk1
