So I was stupid enough to trust a one year old reddit thread to estimate the life costs in a country.

In the interview I said that my knowledge in life costs there is based on a friend living there ( reddit) and that I am expecting around X.

Now that I met with a guy who works in that city in the same field, he said that at least I should've asked for 25 percent more.

And that I can only SURVIVE with my current number here.

How should I approach this when they return to me?

Should I say I was offered X+25% more in other company?

Or should I just be honest and say the reasons?

I feel so stupid and I just want to be prepared for the conversation when they call me back.
