Okay so let me preface this with I AM AN IDIOT. This is all totally my fault to begin with. Okay, now story time.

Last November I got my hair done. It cost $276 bucks. I used PayPal to pay my hairdresser because she works out of her home. Then, three days later when I looked at my banking it had that $276 charge on it but it said the charge was from a random store in the northeast, but I don’t even currently live in America. My husband had his card number stolen recently so naturally, I freaked out and called my bank and they labeled it as fraud and gave me $276 out of their pockets so I could pay my bills while they investigated. I AM AN IDIOT.

A few weeks later my hairdresser messages me with a screenshot of an email she got about the opened fraud case. I instantly realized my mistake, apologized profusely, and called my bank. They marked the fraud case as valid, told me it would all be taken care of and said on December 21st the money they had loaned me would be removed from my account. Okay, no problem. (I suck).

Three days later my hairdresser messages me again. Paypal has taken the money out of her account and she is now in the negative. I call my bank, they reassure me all will be fixed on the 21st when the money is taken out of my account (wrong), and I tell my hairdresser again that I’m an idiot, I’m sorry, and if she needs the money to feel free to charge me again for it and we can figure things out once she gets the money back. She very politely declines my offer and says she will just wait for the 21st to happen.

The 21st rolls by, the money is taken out of my account, and I’m relieved because I don’t hear from my hairdresser and I assume she got her money back. WRONG.

Two weeks later she messages me that she still hasn’t received the money and now PayPal has taken an additional $20 out of her account. I instantly call my bank and they say that PayPal was notified back when I FIRST called to report the charge as valid, and they should never have taken the money to begin with. They also never gave the money to my bank, so the money and issue is with them.

I called PayPal and told them everything. They cancelled the $20 fee that they applied to my hairdressers account and told me the money was with my bank. I called my bank and they said no, it’s with Paypal. I called Paypal and they said “oh, it’s just processing your hairdresser will get it soon.” A week passes and nothing happens so I call them again. They tell me the problem is with my bank again. I call my bank and they say, no it’s with Paypal. I call Paypal and they say no, it’s your bank. BACK AND FORTH AND BACK AND FORTH.

I’m at my wits end and I don’t know what to do!! My hairdresser called them today and they said the money is with my bank again. I’m about to go crazy and just threaten somebody with a lawsuit because neither me nor my hairdresser has the money and I just want to pay her already. Has anyone had an experience like this or know what I can do?!

Also, yes I’m an idiot.
