GBTC will split shares so that for every one held, 90 will be received, for holders on the record date of January 22nd. Rather than a single share being worth ~$1700-$2500, it would now be closer to the $18-$27 range.
I have had only a small handful of my stocks split before, but usually it is on a scale of 2 for 1. Any observations on what tends to happen when a stock splits? Is a stock split generally regarded as a good or a bad thing, or just an regular adjustment when the price of something is beyond what most are willing to pay?
Any predictions on what this will do to the premium? Turnover of shares? Overall price point once the dust has settled?
