My husband and i are almost $40k in credit card debt, and I'm trying to get things paid off, but I'm not getting much support from him. He keeps spending and it's all dumb shit that adds up - $10-15 for a car wash, $7 a day on vending machine junk, and he spent triple what i set as a budget for Christmas. We have no savings and i can barely make our minimum payments now.

I have a pay raise starting on my next check, and I heard something yesterday on the news about most people getting more take-home pay starting in Feb. Is that actually true?

Do i put some money in savings first, and then try to apply the extra to debt? Im worried we will just spend the extra money.

I want to set a better example for my daughter, so that she can see how finances are supposed to work. And is there any way to get my husband to stop pissing away money? Im open to all suggestions here.
