In terms of luxury, I mean either an expensive item that is used only for entertainment or recreational purposes [an expensive guitar, expensive golf clubs etc] or a practical item that is much more expensive then it needs to be to fulfill its purpose [a luxury vehicle, a million dollar home etc].

I have a number of expensive acoustic guitars [one worth about $4000, another $2000, $1500]. I would be willing to get rid of some of them, but not 1 or 2. Rationally, I'm not even playing these days and probably shouldn't keep any.

I have quite a few shoes, including some rather expensive Red Wings and Allen Edmonds. Not inclined to get rid of those, not particularly rational, but I do wear most of them regularly. I certainly don't need all of them.

I have a Water Rower. A Concept 2 is cheaper, or there are many other cheaper ways to work out. However, I use it 4-6 times per week and have for many years, gotten in shape with it, I think I have used it more than enough to justify its cost ($1500), definitely would not get rid of it unless I replaced it with something similar.

On the flip side, I own a practical condo, relatively cheap one, and a practical car, a Honda Fit. Room for improvement, but not doing terribly. Generally I should buy cheaper things and less stuff and save more more, I'm getting there. What expensive items do you all have? Could you ditch them?
