It is a huge expense at once, but should be enough to last us close to a year.

It is 185 pounds and with the butchering and everything it comes to $3.83 per pound. Where we are, in northern BC, you can't even get ground beef for that price.

I had worked a bunch of overtime lately, so this seemed like a good way to spend it, plus we have budgeted for what we used to pay for beef, so it should work out to a surplus of funds over the year.

Anyone else buy their meat this way? How did it work out?
