I'm looking for options for new boots for my husband. He does surveying and engineering, he also does a fair amount of field work that includes setting stakes, and kneeling/crouching. He loves his Asolo Fugitives, but wears through a pair every 1.5-2 years at the moment. He walks a lot for work, so the weight of the boot does matter some, they will also get wet occasionally. Is there anything that will last longer for $300 or less? He doesn't need steel toed boots. Is there a different style that will last longer? Will full leather ones wear longer? Another brand to look at? Or with his work and wear habits should I simply expect BIFL products to not last as long?
The wear shows most along the seams and then ripping out everywhere in the side of the uppers.
