As the title says, I've come to find out that the white wire pair for lighting is uncapped. I'm extremely nervous that its a fire hazard and not sure what to do. And it'll come as a surprise to no one, I'm a first time homeowner. To be honest, I don't remember if it was always uncapped or the cap was lost while I was replacing it. It's been a hell of a day, that's for sure. There's also a thin piece of cardboard within the light fixture that separates the groupings of wires.I've since reset the breaker and the light works without a problem. Unfortunately I need this specific circuit on because it's being used by many important things.Any help and advice provided would be greatly appreciated. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2ppwI40
