I bought a new desk and trying to figure out the best way to mount a keyboard slide underneath the tabletop. Its made of melamine coated particle board, slightly less than 3/4in thick. The plan is to mount the slide with 4 brackets, 2 screws each. The hole in the bracket only allows up to #8 screws. Something like this. http://ift.tt/2l3fRSw concern is that particle boards doesn't have a strong grip on screws. I never worked with it and have no idea if it will be strong enough, especially when I only have about 1/2in to screw in without creating a hole in the table. After googling some suggest putting glue in the pre-drilled hole. Or use threaded inserts. Will any of these be enough? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2BfiGq1
