What does r/investing think of leveraging home equity to invest in real estate (or some other passive* income investment)?
Say you have a home worth $500k, with $350k in equity. Would you cash out $200k and buy an investment property if it meant getting a monthly installment (incl. assumption that incoming rent outweighs additional mortgage pmt by 40% and that you are willing to assume the risk of maintaining the rental property)?
