G'day

To give you guys a bit of background... I am a 20 year old man not working or studying and living at home. I have 0 debt and 0 dollars saved. The last time I worked was roughly 6 months ago and in my spare time since then I have been studying business in my free time through books and online resources.

Recently I have been offered a low-skill job within the mining industry that pays 65k a year. The job is fly in, fly out so while I'm up there food and accommodation is payed for. I see this as a good opportunity to grind and save over the next few years. In my mind i'm thinking of committing at least 4 years to the job until i'm 25 (will begin working next year), while I continue to study business in my free time with the hopes of being able to to start a business with the money I save.

My main concern is that during this time I won't acquire any type of skill - such as a trade - and am relying on my plans to invest the money saved as something to do after I'm done with the job.

Perhaps I am planning too far ahead but I would just like to see if anyone here has any criticism/advice they could offer me. I'm open to any type of advice, I don't know shit after all, I have no one in real life to guide me and I want to try my best to get my life together while I'm still young.

Thanks

Edit: I'm also writing down a list of books for 2018 if any of you would also like to suggest something for me to read.
