I need to cut a hole in a brick wall to install a new dryer vent. I’m comfortable with that part, but some guides online recommend installing a lintel whenever creating an opening in a brick wall.So is a lintel necessary for a roughly 4” diameter hole? Can a place the hole in a way that would guarantee the wall won’t settle and crack (like not under a joint maybe)? Or would it be better to create a square hole? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2CdhCRG
