Currently on Verizon and paying $110/month for 2 lines, I have been researching these no contract "MVNO"s which are smaller groups that seem to purchase network service from major providers at wholesale prices.
There are many services (MintSim for example offering 5 GB $20/month with unlimited txt&talk)
The only downside I can see is many require an unlocked phone, but that's only a few hundred $$$ up front.
Why wouldn't everyone on the major networks spending hundreds each month migrate over to the cheaper options (Google FI, Total, Cricket, Mint, Red, etc)?
Almost seems too good to be true!
