Hello, my friend recommended this subreddit to me, so im not entirely familiar with the customs and what-have-you, so bare with me.
I'm a student at the University of Pittsburgh, scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2018 if I can find the money. I am majoring in philosophy and minoring in legal studies, and plan to go to law school whenever my situation permits.
As it stands, I am 7,200 dollars short for the year. I have been trying to figure it all out over this semester but have been unable to do so. I am filling out a "special circumstances" form right now, but I don't know of any other options of avenues I could take to try to cover the debt. My previous cosigner's credit score dipped, and I have no one else so private loans are more or less off the table.
I switched into Philosophy from a STEM field, and my gpa wasn't that great, so suffice to say its my fault for not really qualifying for any grants or scholarships. Still, my GPA has only gone up since then, and my in-major GPA is much more respectable. As things are looking, dean's list is almost guaranteed for this semester. But basically, I doubt scholarships are an option.
Anyone have any advice? I know with the opportunity I will be able to do well this final semester and finish strong, just not sure how I can finance it. Thanks to anyone who has read all this, thanks to anyone who posts a response as well. I don't expect much, but I am grateful for everyone's time that has read this and seeks to contribute ideas.
