I grew up with frugal family members. Their philosophy was to save as much money as they could on just about anything, except for vacations, events, etc.
They always told me that memories last a lifetime (dementia/Alzheimers aside), and to not let saving money come in front of opportunities for amazing memories. I'm also fond of that mindset.
I'm taking my significant other to DC for a few days for New Years. I'm trying to think of ways to save money while we're there.
*The hotel that I'm staying at provides a free breakfast buffet, so I'm all set in that regard.
Any tips?
