tldr- I need a screen or a filter that I can install into the inside of a 3/4" pvc elbow.I've got an external bell siphon for my aquaponics system that I'm trying to setup and it works perfectly, but I'm concerned that the hydroton might get sucked into the intake on the inside of the reservoir. The reservoir has a 3/4"-3/4" bulkhead fitting installed on the side with a 3/4" threaded elbow pointing downward into the grow bed that serves as the intake pipe. the 3/4" elbow is tilted slightly (creates about a 1/8-1/4" gap between bottom of res and intake) which gives it enough room to break/ siphon to water when it reaches the fill line, but enough so that some small pieces of hydroton might find their way into there. I already tried to put a cap on there and drill small holes into it but it reduced the siphon flow to a much slower rate than the water that gets pumped into the system. It also made the leftover water line higher once the siphon stopped since the cap added to the height of the pipe, so I'm trying to avoid that as well. I also thought about just stuffing the pipe with something or possibly some kind of aquarium filter since I know those exist, but that might decrease the flow rate and it would likely gather particulates much quicker than I'd imagine a screen collecting. Ideally a strong screen that fits onto the inside of the pipe would be fantastic, but I'm looking for any ideas at this point since I can't seem to find a solution by searching online yet. Thanks in advance for the help. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2zTvW0u
