Active duty military, 8+ years in and going for the full 20 years. Currently grandfathered into the pension after doing 20 years in the military and do not plan on switching to the new retirement fund.
My question is. Should I focus more on the TSP fund or keep putting $5,500 into my IRA? I’ve been maxing out my IRA since I was 19 years old. Just recently started the TSP. I used to have a managed Roth IRA and I stopped that after realizing how much their management fee was eating up.
I have been putting some money into the TSP but I’ve heard the TSP is the best way to go since it such a low fee, I believe 0.0083%. I was thinking of stopping or drastically reducing how much I put into my Roth IRA and start contributing more into the TSP.
Side question. Since I have two Roth’s going. Should my wife do a traditional IRA or should she still stick to a Roth?
