I recently discovered that my dads side of the family has a family cemetery. The last person buried there was my Great-Great-Grandmother in 1978. Over the years due to family moving to other parts of the state and things like that, it has not been used since. My fathers baby sister was buried there in 1968, she was 1 year old and died from Leukemia. He was just a teenager then and his family did not have alot of money so he believes that she did not get a headstone. Shortly after, he was drafted and went to Vietnam, spent a career in the army and as time went on, his sister not having a headstone is really bothering him as he gets older. This cemetery is on a mountain in Eastern Kentucky. It's just a small clearing surrounded by forest. Years ago there was a path leading up the mountain to the cemetery but even that is gone now.I want to do this for him and my aunt. But I have no idea as to what would be a good headstone that I could make, but would last and stand up to the elements and nature. Whatever it is, I will have to sling it on my back, I can probably manage 100lbs max. Due to location and terrain, a traditional headstone won't be possible.I'll be going up the mountain to place it in the spring, so I have plenty of time to get something together. ANY ideas some of you experienced folks may have, I'll gladly listen. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2zIZdhy
