Long story short, my family convinced me to put their portion of a vacation on my Chase card (my portion was basically paid by opening the card). I knew that they weren't doing the best financially, but let them make me feel bad for not putting it on the card.
Three months later, I've only gotten a very small amount of the $6k back and every excuse in the book is being used every paycheck. Family and finances don't mix.
Some of my financial goals have been thrown off for a couple months, but I'll recover.
I've read posts here about not expecting the money back, but I didn't think it would be my family. Boy was I wrong. I don't regret going the trip (it changed my life) but I do regret going with my family.
