Hello. I'm starting a new job this week - it's minimum wage which here in the UK is £7.50 an hour full time. So roughly 250 per week before tax (I forgot the hours tbh).
On the other two days of the week I attend a college course to study a trade that is relevant to my life goals.
However, I really need to move out of my parents house ffs.
So does anybody have any tips on how I can do this considering the low pay and 7 day per week schedule and do it without wanting to die more than usual?
I live pretty minimal right now I think. I don't eat out, I don't buy gadgets, I safety pin my clothes when they rip, I don't subscribe to anything other than one magazine subscription, I eat huel, I pay as you go on my phone, my hobbies are cheap/free, I use a budget calculator for every in and out. The only things I spend my money on regularly are dividends to my parents to help run the house (food and bills) petrol and huel (food replacement, like soylent if you know of that) . I know I have a few non essential purchases that I can cut out too, mostly books and drugs.
I have a car (that I own) and a bike. I don't really have any savings though.
Can I do this without it being a really shit and stressful existence?
Help me, I'm trying to change my life dramatically and very quickly. Thanks.
Edit : title should be something more like "can you live comfortably on minimum wage.
Edit: should probably point out that my parents don't necessarily want me to move out btw, it's pretty common in my culture to live with parents at a more advanced age lol. Plus they're pretty sickly and getting old so they appreciate the help I give them, but I need to go man.
