So my girlfriend is a nurse and lost her previous job about 2 months ago. Neither of us are great with money but we managed to get through it in one piece. It was tough. Things were not looking good by the end of those 2 months.
By some good luck I didn’t see coming our way she got offered a part time job taking care of a student going to a university near us. It would require a few more weeks of waiting and about a month of training but there was no way we could turn down anything at this point, let alone an offer of $50 an hour. The time comes to get the ball rolling and it turns into a full time position. She’s in the middle of training right now and couldn’t be happier. The job is great, coworkers are pleasant and it’s less than 10 minutes from where we live.
And on top of everything else, it’s on the table that we could move with the student when they graduate and follow them wherever they end up going. Housing and all expenses paid for as long as she’s employed with them.
I just wanted to share this with you guys as a half brag on my girlfriend, half inspiration that great things can happen even when it seems like there’s no reason for them to. Be patient and put yourself out there, anything could happen.
